Oh dear, what have I gotten myself into :)
As of yesterday, my wife and I bought a carefully used 1995 Rockwood Regent DP. She is 30' long, has 113k miles, but a newer diesel engine with only 28k miles.
We are really excited about becoming part of the RV community, especially since Diann, my wife, will be retiring next year. And, at that point, we are going to take a year to RV around the US. Hopefully, we will have traded in this new "baby" of ours and have learned enough and saved enough to purchase a later model RV with slides.
But for right now, we are going to learn all we can and hit the Florida roads and campsites, that are within our reach of both time and money.
Any thoughts. ideas or suggestions are truly welcomed, especially if you have any knowledge of the Rockwood Regent.
Hope to hear and speak with many of you. Maybe we will trudge the happy road to destiny with you.

Eddie and Diann--Welcome aboard! Sounds like you two have a great plan! I don't know that particular RV, but it sounds like you already put a lot of thought in this, and since you are reading this forum, you'll have lots of support here too.
Many RV's have very similar appliances and issues, so there will be a lot you can learn from others. Check-in often!! I make it a point to skim through at least once a day, picking up little tid bits here and there. And by all means, ask specific questions when you have them. Folks will always want to know what year, make and model RV you have. You can edit your "avatar" to show that info if you want, or just be sure to type it in when you are posting questions. You'll get better answers that way.
And of course... you may get contrary opinions too that you will have to filter through. As with any free forum, it comes at no additional charge!

Welcome aboard!!! If this is your first rv, 90% of fellow campers are happy to help with your questions. From getting the rv level to hooking up and dumping the black tank. Well, maybe 80% on the black tank...

Welcome! We had a 1991 Rockwood Regent with the Ford gas chassis, but IIRC correctly there weren't many differences in there (other than having a diesel engine where we had pass-through storage and our water tank under the bed). Was a good coach, well built, and served up well. I'm sure you'll get the same from yours!
