Old Newby....Redux

We pulled the trigger this weekend after years of visiting dealer lots, internet, friends coaches, and about every other source available seaching for that "Perfect Coach". We finally settled on the Horizon 40, simply because it was top shelf and was affordable. It's an '04 with 22000 miles and nearly in pristine condition if you ignore the warts and pimples that nearly every 9 year old coach accumulates.

Frankly, we're as nervous as a 16 year old on a first date. We have quite a bit of experience with the Springdale we tugged around for 5 years, so we have the basics of RV'ing down pat and are now looking forward, with some trepidation, learning about our new to us home away from home.

Our initial plan is to take several short trips as often as possible and to spend that time figuring out the million new systems that are necessary for us to fully enjoy our coming travels. We're not going to go full time, but we do anticipate spending a lot of time on the road. I'm sure that the learning process is ongoing and we are looking forward to it.

I'm going to depend on you, dear reader, to provide your insights and experiences. I plan on posting a lot of newby questions, and who knows, maybe some other newby will be able gain some knowledge from my questions and responses.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Welcome and congrats on your new-to-you coach! I'm sure it's a lot like bike riding in that most of what you need to know will come right back to you. The driveway is a perfect place to get your feet wet because you have the safety of the house at your fingertips. Might seem a little "odd" but if your neighbors are talking about you they're leaving someone else alone so consider it a "community service". I might add, however, that the standard "pics or it didn't happen" rule still applies here and since you just got this new unit and all.............I'm just sayin'

I see you joined in 2011 so not exactly a newbie, so let me just say congrats on the new rig! Here's hoping you get many trouble free years of RV'ing with her too!

Hey! I've only had the thing for something less than 24 hours...most of which was night . Pics will be forthcoming soon.

BTW, how did you know our neighbors are talking about us? One of our motivators is to spend as little time as possible next door to one of them...just sayin'.

Hi and welcome to IRV2! We're glad you joined the group!

Congrats on the new rig! I know exactly how you feel. Last year we went to the MH after pulling a 5er for 10 years and it was a shocker! It didn't take long until I was totally comfortable with it and we really love it!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
