Old RV'er, new to iRV2

I've spent the past few weeks trying to get my sea legs on the forum. Posted a couple of times but realized that I haven't introduced myself. My wife and I currently have a late 90's 25' Layton fifth wheel that we tow behind a 2002 Dodge 2500 (Cummins).

My start in RVing came in 1973 when mom and dad sold up and packed us into a 36' Beaver Class C towing a 16' TT. That's mom, dad, four kids (aged 5-13) a dog and cat. We spent from Sept '73 to Jan '74 on the road, over 18K miles. Lots of adventures, bad weather (not a lot though), and good family times. I've rented several times as an adult and this is our second unit (the last a TT). Most of my time has been spent boating (both recreationally and professionally), but I've regularly made RV trips in rentals. Full timing is in our future, probably in a Class A.

This year we will take our first extended trip spending several weeks in Tucson with leisurely trips to and from. In preparation for the trip I've pulled out the original carpet in all but the bedroom area and replaced it with Allegra as well as making a few other minor mods to make the longer trip more comfortable.

Anyway, just thought I'd say hello.

Hello!

Lyman

Welcome to IRV, it's not the rig it's the people in it that make all the difference! Enjoy the trails in your 5er. I miss the RAM head hood ornaments on the older RAMs.

Welcome, your in the right forum, you can get all sorts of great technical advice from well seasoned Rvers and good conversation from guys that don't know jack!

If you go to tool bar, select "user cp" then "edit signature" you can add info on your rig or family. This comes in handy when you have questions concerning your coach or towing.

Check out the Just conversation threads, you'll find many that are like minded as you and some with no mind at all!

Again welcome
