Only fitting for this old guy to be running an old coach!

My name is Tom, and I'm now officially an RV fan!
I have had one for years, used them for decades, but never considered myself as a died-in-the-wool RV'er until recently.
My rig is an older one- but I think that's why I love it so much. I'm getting my own signs of aging, but I know my own limitations. My coach is 26, so it's half my age- So my wife accuses me of having a mistress that's half my age!
There's some truth to that...
I spend a lot of time with and working on "Abby." That's the name of my '84 Diamond Maxi. (It's also the name of my first girlfriend, but don't tell my wife, LOL!) Seriously, though, despite its age, she has a lot going for her, and only 48k on the dial.
Most of my problems stem more from a LACK of use, rather than using it too much; I'm sure there are others who can identify!
(Yes, I'm still talking about the coach!)
Letting it sit too long has caused a number of ills, but even current trends in technology have taken their toll as well, such as the re-formulation of gasoline destroying all things rubber!
We have our disagreements, but I've learned that if I try to treat her right, she won't let me down.
I became disabled a few years ago, and like so many, I struggle to get by as a result. But this bug has caught me, and I plan many short trips to a number of places in the near future, and on a regular basis for many years to come.
I look forward to meeting all of you as time goes on, and learning from you what I can! I will try to share what limited knowledge I acquire, and while I may not know all the tips and tricks that the rest of you have picked up, I have managed to wrangle my way through a complex issue or two in my day, and still love a good puzzle to keep my brain from rotting!
May your days and evenings be worthy of your time and talents!
Tom Whiteman

Welcome to IRV2 Tom! You will find a good share of us are seasoned. But that doesn't stop us from getting on the road and having a good time. I have met some really great people on this forum and was fortunate to camp with them at the Rally this year. Hope you have many happy travels.

Hi Tom! It's great to have you with us! We can always use someone with your experience! Feel free to hop in anytime you find something that interests you. Good luck with Abby. Just treat her right, say "yes ma'm" and "no ma'm", keep her well fed, and everything will work out OK! Good luck & God bless!

Well-fed... Yes, she does have an appetite!

Thanks for the welcome! That goes for all of you, too- I can tell this is a good crowd to hang around with!
