Over the road

Hi everyone.
I am a new member but an old RVer.

After 40 years on the road I don't have much to say!.
There was a song a few years back 'Ive Been Everywhere Man'
Well, I havn't been everywhere, but have been to a lot of places.
Worst RVing experience? Hmm, think it must be a week spent in a Volkswagen Van in Germany, rained most days. The volks was just a commercial van and in the humidity the walls ran with water.
On the coridor between Berlin and the GDR, West German border agents accused us of trying to smuggle in dutiable goods (our camping gear).
Camping spots were far different from what we were used to here!
Looking forward to some sun time in Texas!

Hi Mozart and welcome to our friendly group. Feel free to join in the discussions - you must have a lot of stories to tell!

Welcome to the site. I haven't been to Europe so of course I haven't tried to camp there but I hear the campsites are quite small and crowded. We're lucky here in that regard that we have numerous choices in where to park for the night, or longer.

Welcome Mozart,
Germany is a lovely country. I mostly enjoyed the short period of time that my rich uncle (Sam) financed for me to see parts of it. I've listened to that old Hank Snow song many many times and its on my bucket list to visit all those places. No bad border guards here is you don't count the Mississippi Highway Patrol, and they're not that bad.

Welcome to the forum! Now you've got that song in my head so I'm going to have to power up the iPod and get some Johnny Cash on the box!

Welcome!

Spent 10+ years in Germany and it was some of the best years of my life. Camping was pretty awesome there, but you have to time it right to avoid the crowds
