Power Converter

Hi I am a new member. Where is the power converter located on a 1987 Fleetwood Southwind? I am probably looking at it but I don't know what I am seeing. Thanks for any help.

Hi, Bob,and Welcome to iRV2. Most converters are in or near the power cord bay, have cooling fans and cooling fins, and will have 110volt cords and heavy 12volt wiring, even amp ratings on the case. This may not be great info, but from some one who was new to Class A's recently the best advice I can give is buy a note book ; your back in school and you should take notes.
And never be afraid to ask questions .

Howdy and welcome. Here's a link to the owner's manual for your coach. Hope this helps. http://fleetwoodrv.com/partsandservi..._SOUTHWIND.pdf

Though I do not know where the converter is located I can provide a "hint".

If your unit has a single door, that when opened exposes both 12 volt fuses AND circit breakers, Then post the make and model info on the door's label.

Odds are quite good the converter is behind that same door, behind the fuses and breakers. NOTE: Key word is: ODDS.. means not 100%.

Hello, welcome to IRV2. Try looking in the Vintage RV section further down the page. Alot of good advice there. Safe travels.

Thank you everyone. Got a lot more good information and I live it. My problem was a fuel pump not working right. I finall tracked it down to the fuel pump ground wire attached to the positive terminal. Fixed the problem and now pump works just fine. Found the AC pannel. It was just under the Furnace.
