Proud new owners
I've been retired for about a year and my wife a bit longer. We had always planned on getting a RV in retirement and decided it was time to start looking. We found a 2004 Itasca Meridian 39W at a nearby dealer. It had everything on our "list" and appeared to be in great condition. We did not expect to find something so soon but it is probably good that we did. There is a lot of things to get ready for our first big trip.
The coach came without service records so I'm changing all the fluids and filters. Being new to big diesels these forums have been a BIG help. Its a whole new experience from my little 3 cylinder diesel tractor! I'll do most of it myself but will probably take it to the nearest Freightliner dealer for the transmission and a "once over" check.
Some may question getting a big DP as our first motorhome. Our goal was to buy our last motorhome first. We'll see how that works out...
Thanks to all who have posted so much information in the past. It has been a great help in our search for a motorhome as well as service and trip preparations.

Hi John & Debbie! Welcome to IRV2! It's great to have you join us!
Congrats on the new rig! That's quite a change from a 3-cylinder tractor!
I had the same problem when I bought my MH last year, sketchy maintenance records, so I just started fresh and had everything changed (except the transmission fluid).
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Don't have a diesel but I did the same thing as records weren't good at all. That way you will know where you started and can keep it up.
