Retired Army from Oregon
My wife Linda and I just purchased a 2005 Fleetwood Discovery. We are not full timers yet, but preparing to be one day. Our Son is one the right coast in the Navy and we hope to travel there next spring. Until then I am starting to upgrade the AV and learn all I can about a motorhome other than everything costs a lot of money. I hope to hear from other Discovery owners about hints and things to look out for. Thanks for reading this.

Hi Sergeant Major, welcome to the forum. You have the first part down right - they cost a LOT of money. Enjoy your travels to see your son.

Great looking rig! They do cost a lot, but with the great advice and links you'll find here there's a lot of cost savings possible.
Good luck and safe travels!

Hi folks! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure happy that you decided to join the bunch here! That's a great looking coach! Yep, they can be expensive! We pulled a 5er for 10 years before going to a Class A a few months ago. It was a shocker! Getting used to the monster now but it has been a steep learning curve! I would suggest you spend a lot of time over in the Class A and Fleetwood areas of the forum. There's a ton of info there for the taking. Good luck & God bless!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY!

Howdy CSMretired!
1SG (retired) here, awesome looking coach, the kind I hope to have one day. I have now and started out with a much older and less awesome unit as I both wanted to learn the systems and the ropes so to speak before I went big. Also was semi wanting to make sure it was all I thought it would be (it is!) before I put more money out as I was not certain if we (wife and I) would like it as much as we hoped we would. I haven't had a bad day out there yet! Welcome and enjoy!
