Retired Seabee from Mississippi

My wife Carol and I just bought a "new" Allegro 32--it's a 2014 but only had 1404 miles on it. Back in the day we had an old, fairly primative RV but it wasn't like this new one and didn't get much use.
I retired from the Seabees in 1979 and became a consulting engineer for international road projects and worked in many exotic places--from China and Indonesia to Kyrgyzstan and beyond. Due to my frequent absences my wife raised our two children almost single-handedly and they are now seniors themselves. She now has Alzeimer's and i am her full-time caregiver. She is still able to enjoy life and so far her primary symptom is the loss of short-term memory. We have come to the realization that neither of us is getting any younger. So we plan to use the RV to get out of the rut we were in and do some of the things that we had often talked about.
We look forward to becoming part-timers in the RV world.
Best regards, Bruce Davis

Post Little Help

We are in preparation of becoming Full Timers. A few years ago we purchased a C2C membership in Dahlonega GA thinking we would use it and get "in the groove" of RVing. We soon found out the membership was a scam. I don't think C2C is but these resorts can be. That was 5700 dollars ripped from our upcoming lifetstyle. I did find a man who, thank the Lord, helped me get out of the campground buy got our money back. Feel free to email me if you are in the same situation. It almost turned us on RVing.

Anyway from you other Full Timers out there, what are some of the clubs/memberships we should be joining. We plan to see the lower 48, but are wanting to take our time and see what there is to see in every state. I don't need the park like setting from C2C resorts, although occasionally that would be fun. But we want nature, forests, beach, lakes everything this beautiful country has to offer.

One thing that really touched us, we loved the freedom when RVing, but we met some of the best people ever while camping. We can't wait to meet you guys in the future, and this time we plan to carry a "buddy log" of everyone we meet.

Thanks in advance

Bruce..
Didn't retire from the "Bee's" but was io MCB 8 in 65 to 68. Did a deployment to Chu Lai.. Still have a special spot in my heart.. And "Agent Orange" in my soul!
Good luck with your RV journey and best wishes and prayers to you and your wife on your medical journey..
Ron
