Retro couple buys retro RV

Just an introduction to this community. Myself (Keith) and wife (Anne-Marie) recently bought a 1973 Apollo 23' motorhome and soon realized we bit off a mouthful. I believe we are in for a lot of fun but also realize our RV is 41 years old and we're not getting any younger either (62 and 63 years of age). So here we are to seek a wee bit of guidance, while being full of enthusiasm for adventure in our new to us motorhome. We are already doing some camping and living away from home.

So hi everybody... glad to be here!

Welcome to the Forum and hang in there. I am sure it takes a lot of time and patience to refurbish a used RV. Don't get discouraged and best of luck.

Welcome to the irv2 gang, Keith & Anne-Marie! Congrats on your retro Apollo; sounds cool! Glad you are able to start enjoying it from the start while making the adjustments you want. IMO, it's a good thing to camp in the unit before making a lot of changes. It gives you better insights on what works best. Good luck and enjoy!

Introducing Randy & Sheron

We are both Tennessee natives, but we have lived in a number states as a result of my career in Materials Management. My jobs have included such companies as GM, Borg-Warner, Trane, and Airstream. After thirty-five years, the doctor told me the stress was killing me, so I got my Class A CDL and saw 46 states and 2 Canadian provinces through the windshield of an 18 wheeler. Motorcycles are a passion. Sheron and I have visited all the lower 48 states and Canada from Ontario east on two wheels.

I'm presently a novelist, having written two Science Fiction books. The first is published in paperback; the second, which I recently finished, will be published as an e-book only. Then, it's on to the final of the trilogy. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

Sheron was an Administrative Assistant before retiring. She has been my wife and best friend for over 49 years. God willing, we plan to celebrate our 50th on an extended tour through the North Central states. She and I share our lives with four little rescue dogs. Each came from horrendous environments. They love to travel, and our motor homes are affectionately known as the Klassy Kennels.

We made upstate South Carolina our permanent home in 1988. All our three children and most of the grandchildren live nearby.

I've learned a great deal in my short time with irv2 and hopefully have been of assistance to many of you. We're happy to be on board.
