Reverse Snowbirds
We have been backpacking, tent camping and now in retirement, we have a vintage RV (1970 Shasta Loflyte) in our winter home of Florida where we have owned a house for many years and take the Loflyte camping in the Winter.
We stay up on the North Shore of Lake Superior in the Summer for 4 months now and have found a bigger lot where we are putting a 34 foot Catalina TT this Summer. This moves us up from the 18-foot tt we have lived in for several months every Summer for the past 4 years.
We discovered this area up north by visiting the Boundary Waters every year. Love outdoors, hiking, canoeing, etc and it is a perfect place for it in summer just as Florida is in the Winter.
We have several issues to figure out: there will be a cat with us this year. How to manage a kitty in an RV.
We are parking the new TT and leaving it in place. And need advice on how to care for an RV that is put in place for extended stay. We will leave it on the lot over winter and pay a storage fee and, of course, will winterize it. Any advice on the special issues of parking a trailer long term would be welcome.
Also interested in mods, especially for the cat and for adding more storage capacity.
Very excited about our new home for the Summer. Would love to find some Catalina owners on the forum.

WELCOME!!!
You've hit the most important one of winterizing:
1. The obvious most important is the freezing water. Make double sure on this issue. Repair are always expensive.
2. Tire inflation
3. Will it be stored on concrete, gravel, grass, diet, etc.
4. To cover or not to cover. Your option. But how much snow typically falls in that area? This may be a consideration
Just a few quick thoughts. Other will follow with their list.
