Spending our kids Inheritance

Well the Old Hippie and the better half (39 yrs.) finally took the plunge. We purchased our 1st MH this past weekend. As I will be retiring (again) at the end of the year, we decided to buy if we found the right coach. We have researched for a couple of years and decided we would buy the best used coach we could find.
We ended up with a 2002 Foretravel U320. It is a 36 footer with one slide, 450 cummins with transmission retarder. It is beautiful! We will actually pick it up in a week or so as we are having the carpet replaced with wood floors.
We bought it at Motorhomes of Texas in Nacogdoches, Tx. Stewart Canti was our salesman and he is the real deal; very informed on Foretravels and a straight shooter. We actually put money down on another coach and then this one came in and he called us. We cancelled that deal and got this one.
I guess, as most of you know, older coaches are difficult to finance, but USAA had no problem with this 2002. They were also very easy to deal with and very professional.

Personal stats:
Native Texans
3 grown children
4 grandkids
1st retirement- Johnson & Johnson 26 years
Self employed- 9 years- Engineer specializing in pharmaceutical industry computer control system validations
Avid fisherman
Yellow Dog Democrat
US Navy 1969 to 1974- EM2- USS Kitty Hawk CV-63- 3 Viet Nam cruises- Shellback

I am sure I will be asking a lot of questions and look forward to those discussions.

Hi folks! Welcome to IRV2! We're really happy that you joined us!

Congrats on the new rig! We went to a Class A last year after pulling a 5er for 10 years. We love it! Just keep it between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Welcome

Also retired from J&J. Didn't get much chance to use our RV's while working there. Demanding job!

Do you go to the annual Retiree meetings?

Thanks all for your support and encouragement.
We are so excited.
I just made a deal to build a nice RV garage and workshop; well it started out as an RV garage and I kinda snuck in the workshop part, anyway, hopefully the coach won't be in there too much.

Fellow J&Jer, I retired in 2004 from McNeil Consumer Healthcare in Round Rock, Texas. Esentially I made Tylenol for 27 years. My role as Plant Engineer was challenging to say the least but very rewarding. I have not attended any retiree meetings, but maybe one day.
