Starting fresh from the Lost Coast
Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm in the middle of researching my 50th birthday present from my wife. I'm figuring on a 3-4 yr old Keystone Passport TT around 7000 GVWR to start with, and a 2014 Ram 2500 crew-cab 4x4 with a 6.2 Hemi. I figure the Cummins is more than I need and I've heard everyday driving on the coastal mountains is hard on diesels. Opinions would be appreciated. I'm also planning on a 5th wheel option just in case I go that direction some day.

Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
I would recommend you go with a 5th wheel. MUCH more stable on the road and more storage space. JMHO!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Mountains hard on a Cummins! Pfffft .. that's what they live for and better mpg's then the Hemi. Plus you will be all set when you go to a bigger trailer like we all have lol. Go with the Dodge Cummins and never look back. Good luck.

Hard on diesels? I would guess then that there are no semis there.
Get a Cummins, you can't have too much truck, but you can have not enough.

You'll wish you had the Cummins when you start climbing the hills/mountains.

Good luck with your search. Cummins ISB? Heck get one with an ISX! Hope your wife will love that 50th present.
