Surprise! Danny in AZ

Hello everyone! My name is Danny and my Wife and I just bought a brand new 2017 Keystone Cougar 28RBSWE.

We live in Surprise, AZ, and have a 10yo girl and a 3yo son. Hoping to do lots of camping soon.

We have only owned the camper a week now (picked up on December 1st) but have been buying and modding almost NON STOP in prep for our first trip to Lake Pleasant this weekend.

Mod list so far:
  • Screen door grab handles
  • Spare tire relocated to side
  • blocked vent runs at ends of trailer
  • taped up botched factory A/C unit intake and dump
  • Fresh water supplies (hoses, 90* elbow, regulator, filter, etc)
  • Black Water supplies (Dump hoses, clear attachment, sani flush hose, etc.)
  • Electrical Supplies (15amp adapter and extension cords for running converter ONLY, surge protector)
  • 6v battery upgrade
  • LED Marker bulbs
  • storage bins, storage bins, storage bins
  • sheets and bedding for kids and parents, plus egg crate for king size bed
  • Oxygenics shower head, peel & stick TP holder with shelf, door mount towel racks
  • Carpetted first step on main entry

Not listing the bazillion little things we did like door guards, blankets, and cabinet trinkets. My Amazon list is still 50 items deep.

Looking forward to learning a lot more. All my best mod ideas have come from forums just like this one.

-Danny

New camper, good for you!
50-30a dogbone in case CG only has 50a hookups (yup, happened to me)
Can't see, but electric tongue jack if you don't already have one.
Cordless drill and socket adapter so you can run down your corner jacks (if not electric).
bikes, etc for kids (and some kind of air pump)

Church key (for when you are finished setting up) likewise appropriate beverage for DW!

No dogbone yet. I'll look into this. (No generator yet either )
Electric tongue jack included! YAY!!!
Bought a HF cordless 18v drill ($20 on special) and tested this weekend with a spare 3/4 socket I had laying around. Works GREAT!
The 28RBSWE comes with an extending bumper tray and mounting arm especially for bikes, although in a pinch you can just put extra cargo there. Rated to hold 200lbs, and holds me ok. I am planning to bring bikes with me this w/e.

Keep 'em coming. LOVE IT!!!

Welcome. Good looking rig. Remember on all trips to pack a good attitude you never know when it will come in handy. There is a Longggggggg learning curve but the good news is steep part is over quickly.
Enjoy the adventure.
