Switching converters in a 1995 Ford Eldorado motor home

I recently received a e350 Eldorado motor home, the power worked but only if I was plugged in to shore power or if it was running the engine. I looked at the 6300A series converter and noticed it was badly burned up and had melted parts so I decided to up grade it to a 8955 series converter. My only problem is at the time I didn't realize the old converter had a panel at the top where the shore power went into and the was wired in there. My new one doesn't have that at all? Does anyone know what I should do?

Your new convertor has to have a way for 120 volts to get into it. It may be a plug or it may be through a knockout where the 120 lines go in. What brand and model of converter are you replacing it with?
Is this it?
