Service Suggestions in Houston Area - Thank you.
Happy New Year to you all. I live in Houston.
I became the owner of a 2003 Gulf stream / Sun voyager RV with GM workhorse W22 chassis. My son lives in Atlanta area and he wanted to come to Houston with his newborn baby but due to Covid, he did not wish to use public restrooms, lodging or restaurant. Hence having an RV was an option. I paid for it, so now this big bus belongs to me. Hopefully, I will get used to it and will enjoy the experiences. However, the vehicle has 60,000 miles and it is 17-year-old. So, before I make a long-distance trip, I would like to check the health of the engine / transmissions and perform a complete preventive maintenance. I could not locate a service place in Houston who will be willing to check the workhorse engine, change spark plugs, change belts etc. Do anyone of you know a good place where I can take the vehicle for such services.
Many thanks for reading and responding.

WELCOME to iRV2.com
Monument Chevy in Pasadena was a premiere ASC for WCC chassis. I would call them.

Have your 17digit vin # that begins with "5B4" handy and ask them to verify IF there are any outstanding recalls that need to be completed.

Service Center
If you find someone let me know as I live in Baytown and have not found a SC yet, a few places that you can take your vehicle to but be prepared to wait weeks if not months to get it back.

Does this mean that you didn't find Monument Chevy to be helpful?

Service center for Workhorse in Houston.
I have been to many shops and places but have not found a single place where I the people are competent and mechanically oriented to take care of the chassis issues such as brakes, fuel systems, water pump, belts, etc. etc. I guess there are not many RV left with workhorse engines and when they developed some problems they are allowed to die.
Monument Chevy I called many times and understand they have a guy who knows about RV/workhorse but he never had time to take my calls.

A gas MH chassis is essentially a medium duty truck. ANY medium duty truck repair shop “should” be capable of repairing basic things like brakes, fluids changes, etc. About the only thing needing specific expertise is the Allison Tranny. For service on that, I would only use an Allison dealer.
