Thank you to all for the advice over the past 3 years
Hello all, I have been following IRV2 for the past 3 years but never joined mainly do to time constraints. We purchased our first coach, a 2022 Dutch Star 4369 almost entirely due to advice given on this forum (along with some of Angie's videos) and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the valuable information.
We ordered our coach from NIRVC in Atlanta and took factory delivery in Nappanee in October of 2022. We could not be more pleased with our decision.
What has been the most value is the technical things I have learned from this forum. Each time a problem has come up, I've been able to come here and find answers and more often than not, correct the issue myself. These machines have so many moving parts that you'd wear your self out going to the dealer for every small problem and I'm grateful to this community for all you have done to make our ownership a 100% pleasant one.
A special thanks to all the regulars here, I have learned so much from you guys.
In an effort to "pay it forward", I just wanted to share a couple of tips and tricks for other Newmar owners. Most of you probably know these things but if I can help just one person "straighten out the leaning curve" I'm glad to help.
Anything that does not work on the 12 volt side of the coach, first thing to always try is a reboot, just turn off the "salesman switch" by the front door, wait a few minutes and turn it back on. I fixed our above bed reading light using this method I learned here.
If your awnings are not working, check the GFCI breaker in the 1/2 bath medicine cabinet, that's where the GFCI reset is for the plug in the basement that the awnings are plugged into. I've actually started tripping that breaker as part of my pre-trip after I read horror stories of peoples awnings deploying while traveling down the road.
If your power passenger seat stops working, check the tiny breaker labeled pass power stool in the bay right outside the driver seat (thank you Dutch Star Don!)
I was so frustrated by low water pressure in the shower until someone suggested to just turn on the water pump when you take a shower, what a difference!
We are actually attending our first rally in West Glacier in August and we are looking to forward meeting anyone from this forum who is attending.
Once again, thank you all for making a positive difference in our lives!
