This is fun, Right?

Well, we survived the first wave of Corona Virus, but this RV'ing might just kill us!

We sold our house in Southern California, bought a great rig, and made plans to travel across the United States. I dont like to be disparaging, so what I will say is, traversing the open road in a "Recreational Vehicle" REALLY BUILDS CHARACTER!

We've met so many great people in these past few weeks but there is so much to overcome its hard to enjoy the experience.

I've joined this platform in hopes of midigating, to some degree, the ever increasing index of mobile-RV mechanic business cards, that are currently building up in the interior of a red solo cup that we've duct taped to the dashboard.

On that note, Hello!

Welcome, Nepthin. We are pretty new at this too. We've owned our rig for 3 years, but spent the first two doing a remodel as time permitted. We've now been full time traveling for a little over a year. We have had several occasions where we felt completely overwhelmed, but have been able to find the solution to almost every problem we've encountered by reading the forums here. We are still VERY glad we chose the RV lifestyle. Enjoy the forums and enjoy the RV lifestyle.

I’m enjoying myself still after 7 years. BUT and this is big, don’t try and see everything all the time. You sold your house bought a rig and went on the road.

If you did that without being an experienced RVr well, that mistake has been made but don’t let it stop you.

There is no trip plan that can’t be altered. If due to RV issues or personal issues.

I travel to Mexico for 6 months of the year, and I understand the anxiety of being on the move. My 2 days in and 2 days out on the road are the most stressful 4 days out of 365.

If it becomes overwhelming, stop for a few days someplace inexpensive and do nothing.

You got years of fun and memories ahead. Enjoy.

I think, because our coach is a 1989 Foretravel class A in super nice condition, that we have yet to be handed a mobile RV mechanic's card.

Enjoy your travels and never be in a hurry.
If you're real good, maybe Santa will bring you a Rolodex for all those business cards!

Welcome to the forum. First thing to remember and pack is a good attitude. We have been FT for 2+ years and yes things break and need repairs. We just deal with them as they come up. Lots of ggod mobile services out there and occasionally we have had to alter plans by a day or two to get repairs and recalls done. IN the scope of things ... not a big deal.

You are joining a good group of friends here with good information to share. Read the various threads here and ask questions as they come up of add information if you can.

Good luck and enjoy the adventure!

Yes, jumping into the deep end when you don't know how to swim can be very challenging.
The good news is, you don't have to sink. Just relax and keep moving, you'll learn to tread water, then how to make progress. Before you know it, you're having fun in spite of yourself. And learning a lot!
Welcome to the obsession.

Welcome to the group from Sunshine Keys RV Resort, near Key West, for now.
Here is why we full time in our rig:
Thanksgiving in Key West (today)
Christmas in Gulf Shores, Alabama
New Years in Galveston Island, Texas
February & March at Spring Training for Cincinnati Reds in Goodyear, Arizona.
Memorial Week in Las Vegas
July 4th week in Yellowstone NP

When repairs are needed, take care of it. The down side does not even come close to the up side of this life style.
Any questions you have, just ask, it is nothing somebody else has not experienced at some time.
