Thor Chateau 24C
We're newbies and are looking at the Thor Chateau 24C. We'd appreciate any input that would be pertinent to our decision to buy or not. Thanks

The Chateau line was made by Four Winds RV for many years before the name change to Thor Motor Coach.
See: Four Winds International | Thor Motor Coach #1 Brand of Motorhomes | Diesel Pushers,Class A,Class B,& Class C RV s
These are very nice mid-grade RV's for quality and price point.
Thor acquired Four Winds and Damon a long time ago but did not make the name change until recently with the creation of the Thor Motor Coach (TMC) brand.
Since you are asking about a Thor Chateau 24C, then is might be safe to assume you mean a new purchase(?). This coach comes on a Ford E-350 -OR- Chevy 4500 cab chassis (time tested).
I expect you will see more Class C RV's maker go to the Chevy van cab/chassis because Ford is ending the venerable E-Series line to introduce the "Sprinter" style Euro-style van called the "Transit" at the end of this year (not to be confused with the smaller Ford Transit Connect). But, like the Sprinter, the Transit will be about 10" less wide on dual rears than the regular American van's we know...so the Chevy is a nice fit for a Class C.
Hope that helps

To Scarab0088: We didn't know there was a Thor owner's club
How do we get involved with that?

From everything I have read the Transit has been added to replace the cargo van lines but production of the E450 chassis for truck/RV use will not stop.
