Total newbies in Arizona

We just bought our first RV, a 36' 1999 Winnebago Champion and plan our first trip, 100 miles to Gilbert Ray Campground outside Tucson, Arizona.
Remember we are total novices and other than the headlights go to the front and the tires stay on the bottom, we don't know a thing. ANY and all advice welcome.

Welcome and enjoy the RV lifestyle...Take short trips for a while until you learn how everything works. Camping in your driveway for a night isn't a bad idea. Enjoy!!

good idea to keep your first outing close to home. There was a thread a while back about things not to do. Basically a bunch of "gotcha's". You might look it up and peruse before your trip. Good luck, have fun, and when you make the same mistakes you'll really be an RVer!! That's how we learn.

You will enjoy the Gilbert Ray park, the scenery is stunning.
Make sure you get to the park off 86, not over the Gates Pass as I saw a 33 footer doing when we were there.

just ask most of the people on here have tons of experience. Remember learning is a joy (well most of the time), Take a deep breathe and relax camping is meant to be fun. Hope you have a great first trip but expect a little hitch now and again.

Hi folks! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad to have you with us!

Congrats on the new rig! Just take things slow and easy, keep it between the ditches, and you'll be fine. We were all at that point at one time!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
