Total Noob, on the road for 30 days already

Hi Ya'all!
My name is Heather, and I'm a married tattoo artist with 3 kids.
Earlier in the year, I decided I had so much work to get to across the country that i thought I'd finally live my dream and travel across in an RV with my family.

I set up the tour, and found an RV.

What a complete and total crazy and fun nightmare!

We got a 1990 Fleetwood Flair and it's been breaking down constantly. However, we knew that we would be discovering issues along the way and were not totally unprepared for it. It has been a learning curve, and I discovered this forum looking for the answers!! So, thank you!

The problem we are having- and it will be solved shortly- is the sediment build up in the gas tank. We have changed fuel filters three times already!!

We've been on the road 31 days so far. Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and now into Pennsylvania. The Trek will take us next from
Pennsylvania to Maine, back into PA, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, California, and back to Oregon.

This forum has already been indispensable, and I can't wait to learn more about my RV, and tips and tricks to making life on the road more enjoyable!

Sure sounds like a gas tank flush is needed or maybe replace depending what it looks like inside. Rusty tank? Possible to pick up a load of bad gas but not that much dirt likely. Don't know how many miles on the rig.

from WA State.

You need to find out if it's a rusty tank or just a bad tank of fuel. Might require dropping the tank, flushing it and then pouring a sealant in or replacing the tank.

Hi Heather! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Congrats on the new rig! There should be some way to drop the gas tank and flush it good! Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Thanks for the advice everyone!
Our rig (now) has 53K miles, all the problems we've been having are due to dry rot/age/neglect.

This is also a working trip for me, not just a vacation. Going fast and furious! In fact, headed to work as I type this!

The journey is a total adventure. Actually most of the breakdowns have forced me to relax. So it hasn't been bad at all!!

Looking forward to sharing our trials and triumphs!!
