Travelling Kiwis

Hi Folks,
We (husband and I) have been travelling in the USA for almost a year now in our 24ft Majestic (ex Cruise America). For the most part we try and free camp but also enjoy the different State Parks on offer. With 25K miles under the belt we are well adjusted to full timing. The only downside we have is that being from New Zealand we have to leave every six months for a "meaningful" period. We managed to get to Canada for 8 weeks in the summer and now that we are down in Florida will be looking for a similar period out - possibly Mexico or Costa Rica. Looking forward to working my way through the different forums

Welcome! Enjoy a very RV oriented country, and do visit the Lone Star State when you get a chance.

Welcome to the forum. Lots to see here and learn. We love pictures of your rig so if you wouldn't mind sharing, please post.

Mexico: San Carlos specifically is about 6 hrs south of the US. You need Mexico insurance to drive down there so check into that first. I have family down in San Carlos and there is a RV park there that has a decent place. Not fancy by any standards but clean and well kept. Pool, on the main drag. Lot's of good restaurants especially Soggy Pesos Bar. Make sure if you go there that you check it out.

I would not try to dry camp there. Not a good idea. You want to be in a secure place every night. This is by the Sea of Cortez and the scenery is beautiful and the weather devine. We landed Jan 29th and it was 84. Smaller community and no cartel there.

Hope you enjoy your travels and have a Happy New Year! :ynne

We had the great pleasure to rent a Class C when we traveled in NZ. The best 10 days we have enjoyed yet. Took the ferry over from North Island to South Island. You have a beaut of a Country yourselves. Started in Auckland and dropped off the RV in Christchurch.
