Wanderlust Tribe!
Hello everyone! My family and I are looking to buy a $1k to $2k Rv and hit the road and do a 10 thousand miles road trip for six months or more. Our lease on the condo we are renting is up July 31st, we plan to live in what ever Rv we buy for another couple weeks locally, then hit the road. As exciting as this all is, we will be doing this on a very small budget, selling a lot of our stuff including my beloved 1995 e320 wagon but it is a small price to pay for an awesome adventure. We will be blogging and video updating our adventures along the way, so come along with with the 5 of us, three humans and two Boston Terriers!
Our website is under construction at the moment but should be soon operational.

Are you kidding?. Unless I misunderstood, if you mean a motorhome, $1000 to $2000 is nowhere adequate for what you propose. And, the same price for a trailer will likely not get you anything livable either.

Sounds like a plan--workable plan --not too sure about that. Good luck.

No jokes here! It can be done, I've done it before when I was by myself, now it's time to bring the family along. I'm definitely the adventurous type and now I want my family to see the country. A little background on me. In 2012 I bought a 26 foot sailboat for 1300 and sailed to the Bahamas with no prior sailing experience with 1500 in my pocket and lived there for 4 months. 2014 I bought a Ninja 250 for 900 rode it from Naples, Florida to Albany, Ny and back. Over 3300 miles in 2 weeks.
I know that you don't need to spend a crazy amount of money on a rig to have a good adventure, but I also know we will run into some issues, but that's all part of the fun!

Ok, let's get real!
$2000.00 will buy a nice tent.
$2000.00 will NOT buy a motorhome that has a workable engine or transmission.
$2000.00 might buy a very old & dilapidated travel trailer and you still need something to haul it with.
You want your adventure to be pleasant, not a nightmare. Save enough money to purchase something that will contribute to the fun, not detract from it.

Welcome, glad to meet you!
X2 to above post. Anything you buy for $2000 will not be adequate for a family for that long time, plus you still need something to tow it. You will not find a MH for that money without a large investment in repairs.
Good Luck!
