What are we doing?

Newly weds that have been roadtripping since we were kids! While courting my wife, we discovered we lived in Japan at the same time as military brats. I even spent Boy Scout summer camp on her base, though we didn't meet until 20 years later.

When we moved her from Texas to West Virginia, we engaged in a week long scavenger hunt centered around roadside attractions. Several months later we decided to add every city listed in Johnny Cash's (AL Snow, depending on your age) I've Been Everywhere, Man song and take pictures of us in front of the signs! This involved revisiting some of the stops along the way.

We try to travel frugally, so a lot of our trips required boondocking in the car. Having just returned from a few "Everywhereman" destinations in Canada, we're selling the house and moving into a class A, 33.5 foot, 2000 Damon Daybreak! We're closing on the rig this week and hope to have the house closed on next month.

The rig has <10k miles, <100 hours on the generator, a few mods from the original owner, and needs the water heater and A/C on the chassis repaired.

Basically it looks like an RV will accommodate our roadtripping hobby and be cheaper than rent or a new mortgage if we move from this area. Sounds good in theory, right? Ugh! So much to continue reading!

Welcome teamReames,
I have a 2011 Damon Daybreak 3211.We bought it new and have had a few issues but,for the most part it has been pretty good.It has almost 16000 miles and the only issue we have had on a trip was the left front leveling jack bracket pulled loose from the frame rail so I had to replace the bracket.I have had things to go wrong while parked in my driveway hooked up to shore power but,I will let you know about that later.Good Luck and Safe Travels.

That reminded me, the T-bar locks on the cargo bays don't retract anymore. The current owner says they also don't lock. Once I get my hands on the manuals I was hoping to have more luck in my online search for parts. I appreciate your sharing.
