What did I get into?
Hello, I'm George, and I'm an old vehicle addict. The latest addition to my collection, is an 84 Country Coach, 30' Class A. Has the Chebby P30 chassis, but has been converted to Diesel, with a Cummins 6BTA5.9, along with adding a Gear Vendors Overdrive, and an Exhaust brake.

Well...A while back someone was trying to identify a coach from pic's.....What was missing was the CC nameplate!!!!. A lot of guesses were made... NOW.... Your coach is what they were trying to identify....!

Looks like a neat project! Is there no aftercooler for the turbo? Not a lot of storage; you'll need a roof box or tow a minivan/cargo trailer. And don't worry if you get overwhelmed with this project. First, you got us for help, ask anything anytime. Someone on this form has done it, whatever it is. And if that doesn't work, remember this: The last guy that owned it found someone crazy enough to buy it, you can too. Best of luck and keep us posted.

That engine has an intercooler. Cummins calls it an aftercooler.
If you zoom in you will see that engine coolant runs thru the intake manifold, cooling the heated turbo air before it reaches the intake ports.
Basicly a small radiator in there.

Thanks for all the kind words.
Best I can decrypt, the diesel conversion was done by a shop in Denver, in the 1990 time frame.
Yea, She definitely needs some work. I'm about finished up with rewiring the fuseblock, and cleaning up the birds nest under the dash. Must have been a shortage of wire colors besides red, and yellow, in 84.
1/2 the wiring went through 2 fuses, they had all the dash stuff, taped and double tapped into the front of the chassis fuseblock, even for things like the wipers that cheby provided a spot in the block for. The only part that was done decent, is all the overhead electronics, those went through a nice fuseblock, with a metal cover. Since they are the old glass fuses, they will go also. I'll have over 30 fuses by the time I'm done. Also, most everything will have an LED indicator light.

I already did the brakes all around. The PO had the rear disks down to metal on metal. So I just went ahead, and did new rotors, pads & calipers all around.
Then comes the cooling system. In the pic, you can see the shops idea of a lower rad hose/ tube. That small tube is 1&1/8" OD.
Took me awhile to find where the tranny gauge (mechanical) hooks up to. After lots of searching, I followed the line down to the last pic. I guess the shop felt that as long as the gauge moved, the costumer will be happy.

Best wishes for easy upgrades without too many undocumented features (surprises).
Will follow your posts with interest.
