Winter camping
Spending this winter in our new camper in Indiana. Cozy but expensive to heat.

Good luck.....I hear Indiana can get pretty nippy at times. 
Why do you feel it is expensive to heat? Are you using electricity or propane? Does your unit have double-pane windows? Are your tanks/plumbing in heated compartments?
We have stayed in Southern Indiana (Perfect North Ski Area) and it got down to 10 degrees at night. Coach did fine and we stayed nice and cozy. Couple of years ago we stayed in Canaan Valley State Park in West Virginia and it dropped down to -5 degrees. It is all doable with proper precautions.

We stayed cozy but cool near the windows. Tanks and plumbing are in heated spaces. We are using the electric fireplace and lp furnace. I have leased a 100 gal. Lp tank and it was delivered with 90% full. About 3 weeks later needed a refill at $180. Electricity that is metered at our site was $183 for the month of November. That is expensive. Plus the 8 degree night caused our hot water line in the shower to freeze up. We have a washer/dryer so that increased our electric use.
We don't have double pane windows. Was that an option.

One option for some people is to keep the interior space very cool at night and use electric blankets to keep warm. We worried about our pets, but they soon learned about the benefits of a electric blanket and joined us keeping warm and toasty  . One caution on using electric blankets is using then on inverter or battery power. They are one of several items that don't like modified sine wave power unless you get a special blanket made for such use.

Find a different way to get propane by my calculations you probably paid about seven or eight dollars per gallon to have it delivered. If you don't mind carrying tanks tractor supply charges about two fifty nine per gallon most other places are around three fifty nine per gallon. Buy ing a couple twenty or thirty five pound tanks would save more than half.

I paid 2.49 per gallon. I got approximately 72 gallons. I just switched the water heater to lp from electric.

I'm sorry I read your post as one hundred pound tank you clearly said one hundred gallon, wow that's a lot of gas to burn in three weeks does your furnace ever shut off. We are in northern Indiana a twenty pound tank lasts about four days depending on temps. that works out around thirty five gallons per month.
I have installed plexiglass over the inside of some windows and bubble wrap on others, it helps reduce drafts a lot.

Hopefully due to the single digits in temperature is why I burned so much gas. I have the thermostat set at 65. It does cycle on and off but it does run heavy in the lower teens.
