Beware - an add with malware was displayed on irv2.com forums page today
Clicked an ad displayed on irv2 today and it tried to load malware on my Windows 10 computer running Edge browser today. Important thing is not to click the button the bad page displays, and don't call the phone number it displays or do anything else it says to do in the window it displays.
The page that was attempting to load the malware had modified Edge browser stuff on my PC and would re-load each time I re-ran Edge browser after killing it in task manager. It continued to do this even after a PC restart.
I had to restore my normal home page by deleting all files from the folder tree that Edge access each time it is started:
C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Mi crosoftEdge_yyyyy\AC\MicrosoftEdge\User\Default\Re covery\Active
Note that the xxxxx indicates places in the file path that will be specific to your User and the yyyyy in the folder name Microsoft Edge generated on your specific Windows 10 computer

Do you remember anything about the ad? Many ads are served by google and if we can ID the ad, we can have it blocked.

Trouble with blocking the irv2 ads is that their having ads and the revenue they generate is a huge part of their ability to have the site be free only being supported by voluntary donations.

It appears that Google has already blocked it. It has not reappeared on the advertising area since. Various forms of this seem to be around, with the text being displayed varying from exploit to exploit. First time I have seen this personally, but I normally don't click on ads that are not for businesses I am already aware. The ad I clicked on was supposedly for a humorous video clip, I should have known better that to click it.
Note there are multiple ways to resolve this issue, the link below is one but I actually used another way as I noted above.
