Blocked?

Is there a way to know whether I have been blocked by some users? I can't imagine why I might have been, but..... someone posts with a problem. I happen to have a resolution and offer a detailed write-up on how I fixed the same issue they have. Then, other posters join the thread and offer the same solution I just wrote up, except with no details to the point of being useless. It doesn't make a lot of sense unless..... maybe these folks are not seeing my posts on the thread? Is this something I can find out? I don't care if somebody has blocked me, I don't care who it is and I don't much care why. But, I would like to know if anyone has blocked me or not. Maybe they just don't like reading long winded overly detailed writeups like I tend to make.

Thanks for your time.

Many times same solutions are offered cause only the title/original posting is read........not all of the other postings

So don't get all wonky because multiple posts with same solution show up.
Just keep posting information and let it go.

As for blocking..haven't a clue

That's how it goes. Many folks never read any further than the first post, and then reply.

Dark Sky I've had that happen many times. A lot of times people don't read the replies that were posted.

I think, but not sure, that they may be using a cellphone and don't want to scan through all the replies.

Keep in mind that if someone has blocked you an old sayings comes to mind:

"Don't judge a person by their friends, judge them by their enemies." So I think you must be a pretty good guy.

It's so weird being the same age as old people.

From some of the curmudgeos I seen post here, I'm not surprised.

But it's probably just because they are replying to the first post. And the OP jumps to the last page.

Probably not about you personally.

NO, you can not view "WHO" BLOCKED YOU. But if you BLOCK a member you can unblock them by going to your USER ID and down to IGNORE LIST. Then here you can select to remove the BLOCK or KEEP them BLOCKED.

If you have someone on your ignore list you can see that they posted but can't see what they posted. If you are ignored you cannot tell by looking. It is meant to be anonymous intentionally.

There are so many replies sometimes that I overlook the fact that someone has said the same thing already. I usually go back and reread after I post and edit my reply to reflect anything I caught on the second read through. If I don't do it that way I will forget what I was going to say lol.

Thank you for your comments and your time. Probably the phone usage is a big factor. It seems unfortunate that people don't have time to read any more, and here we are dropping cursive writing from our schools. Pretty soon all of our thinking will be managed by Google. Wouldn't be too hard for some smart people to rewrite history, hope we never come to that.
I will continue to try and submit helpful posts in the few cases where I actually know something. I want to pay back the system for all the things I continue to learn with resulting money saved.

It's a frequent occurrence for posts with the same info to be submitted in a thread. It's the nature of forums. It's no reflection on you helping by offering your advice. Please continue to do so & don't worry if your advice is regurgitated.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
