Can't Delete My Own Post
I posted something that I wanted to delete instead of editing. In the past, if I clicked the edit button, there was an option to delete a post, as long as I did it in a timely manner. I just posted my first poll, and I screwed it up. I wanted to delete it and start over, but there is no delete option, even though I hit the edit button within one minute of my post. When my mouse hovers over the "Edit" button, it clearly says, "Edit/Delete Post."

Certainly has...musta been the thread phantom.
Still like to know if the delete button is inoperative or if it is no longer an option.

Was this a thread or a post? A thread cannot be deleted. It takes a member of the staff to do that. Ask me how I know :-). I haven't always been a Moderator.

I guess that covers it.. If I'm not mistaken you can always post a reply to your own post which says something like:
Attention Moderator.. Please..
And then whatever you wanted done to the post. Generally the modrator will grant your polite request and not hold it against you.
NOTE: This applies to many forums, not just here, I've had to do that a few times.. In a few places I happen to be a Moderator and I'd have no problem granting such a request there (Those place are NOT RV forums however).
Generally the moderators are good folks.. If they are not.. I have, in the past, run into just two places where the moderators were a bit.. Well, let's just say not so nice.
One I cancelled my requiest to join when I found out who owned the mail list and thus never posted there. The other, I un-subscribed (it too was a mail list0 about oh, 10 years ago. Thus, if the moderators are not good folks.. Don't go there looking for me.

The preferred way to bring something to the moderator's attention is to report the post.
We don't always read every post and a posted request could easily be missed.
A reported post results in the mods being immediately notified.

I was looking for the "Report post" Icon/button when I made that post.. Took me until just now to find it,, (Exclamation point within a triangle) I've used that method in fact.
Thanks for the correction.
