Does it have a separate satellite cable input?

Run the coax cable from the satellite dish to the coax connection in your water bay compartment. Inside the motorhome cupboard for the electronics connect the receiver to the coax cable coming from the wall mounted switch. Press the button on that wall switch to off the connection to the roof top antenna. Run the HDMI connection from your satellite dish receiver to your TV. If there is an Multi-HDMI connector you can run the feed to it so the satellite feed appears on all televisions.

If you do not have a dedicated sat input coax frequently hooking up to the cable tv input puts an amplifier in line and you cannot power your tailgater correctly. You can pop open the panel where the little green light is and bypass that connection with a coax barrel connector. You can also run a dedicated coax thru your coach to where you plan to put the receiver. I did this in two spots on my Discovery 40G. The details depend on how easily you can pass the coax thru the equipment bays up into the coach behind the walls or cabinets.

That said, before I got ambitious enough to do the cable run, I used to just pass a coax thru the gasket of my slide out when I was parked and ran it to the antenna outside and the reviver inside. Just remember to pull the wire out before you close the slide.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

I agree with the others that using the outside cable connection will be your best bet. You can put the Tailgater on a tripod or just sit it on the ground. The cable inside will probably be connected to some kind of switching box. Disconnect it from the box and connect it directly to your satellite receiver.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I would run the connections straight to the receiver from the Tailgater first. Doing this will make sure everything works fine. After you get everything set-up hook up as suggested by others.
