Why do some individual posts but not others have a block ad appearing in their text? I find that very distracting and off-putting! Isn't a column of ads on the right side enough?

I use Firefox browser and have 'AD BLOCKER PLUS' add on.
I see NO ads, NO popups, nothing in the way of annoying ads

Ads appearing within individual posts would indicate the user was viewing as a "Guest."

Logging-in before browsing will reduce ads.

Best luck

Forum Ads

When I turn the right side off I get an ad between two posts. Only the first two. Is this what you’re referring to .

Using the above thread as an example,

When logged in, I see no ads between/within the individual posts, and all 41 posts display on a single scrolling page.

When logged out, I see ads between posts 1-2 and 29-30, and within post #s 1, 2, 14, 29, 30, 41, and the 41 posts are displayed over three pages.

Clifftall, you mentioned turning off the right column?? Can that be done?

I'm on Safari, if that matters.

The setting to turn off the right column is in your user CP. edit options- scroll down to misc options - turn off right column - select save changes at bottom.

Nice, thanks!

Of course by turning off right column, you also lose the 'recent discussions' list

But you can click on "New Posts" near the top. That's actually my preferred method of browsing.

Yes, you lose it on the main forums page, but it stays on the Blogs page.

However, the New Posts tab will give you much more than just the top 12.

There is great need for a sarcasm font.
