Classifieds

Any iRV2 member can place an ad for a used item in our Classifieds section for free.

Some helpful hints:
  • All ads must have a title. Enter the year of your RV first in the title. Members shouldn't have to open an ad to find that info and it saves them searching time if they only want to look for certain year RV's.
  • Be as complete as possible when listing and describing the item. The better the details, the better chance of getting sold.
  • Take quality photos. Photos greatly increase exposure and sales. Acceptable File formats are .jpg, .jpeg. png and .gif. If ad/image loading fails, try uploading just 1 image at a time and keep you images under 2 MB size for best results.
  • When your ad is nearing expiration, you will receive an email notifying you. Just click on the embedded link to automatically renew it.
  • Remember to mark your ad SOLD IT!. This triggers the software to remove the ad after a few days. That option can be found under the Product Options menu in the upper right corner of your ad.
  • For all vehicles, please list the year first in the title. Example: 2006 Jeep Liberty
  • Place your item in the most appropriate section. Examples: Tow Vehicles are trucks used to tow trailers. Toads are vehicles pulled behind motorhomes.
  • Don't put "For Sale" in the title. This is the Classifieds, members know it's for sale. Besides it takes up valuable title space better used for info on the item

To edit, delete or mark your ad SOLD IT!:
  • Open your ad
  • Click on the words Product Options
  • Choose the appropriate item from the drop down
  • Click on Submit

NOTE: Forum and Classified software will display photos in the original orientation in which they were taken. If a photo was taken in landscape (sideways) mode, it will display sideways in a post or ad, even if you have it stored in portrait (upright) mode on your device. Use a photo editing or snipping tool to save a copy of the photo in portrait (upright) orientation and upload that copy (not the original) in your post/ad.

Ads placed in the wrong category are subject to removal.

To keep our Classifieds current, all ads over 8 months old, whether marked SOLD or not, will be removed. You may enter a new ad if your item has not sold.

Ads on iRV2

Sites such as iRV2, Google, Facebook and thousands of others are provided for free. The costs to run these sites are offset by serving ads.

We know that some members don’t like to see the ads and we understand why people use ad blockers, but in the long run they will have unintended consequences.

Sites will have to keep evolving in order to keep the lights on and some might start charging for access. We don't have plans to do that here at iRV2 but wouldn't it terrible if you had to pay to use most of your favorite websites because they can't afford to keep providing the services for free?

Did you know Google and other big name companies pay the ad blocker add-ons so ads will still show up on sites? Kind of scammy that they will block ads unless you pay them so their blocking tools will not work on your site!

It's unfortunate that some people abuse the system by showing deceptive ads. The best solution is to report them to us, but the most actionable item to report is the domain name, or URL of the offending site. With that we report them to the ad network (Google) and block them from being served here.

Quoting Posts

For clarification, you may want to quote a prior thread post to address the poster(s) directly, rather than make a general post in the thread.

You can either click on the Quote button, located at the bottom right of a post, to quote a single post, or you can click on the Multi+ button in each post to quote multiple posts.

Once you've clicked on the appropriate button, you then click on the Post Reply button and a new page will open where you can edit the quotes & make your replies.

Please use the Quote function sparingly. If you are replying to the post directly preceding yours, there's no need to quote the entire post, especially if that post has many pictures. It's not necessary to quote and the addition of even more pictures can slow browser function for many members.

The App

iRV2 has an app available for both iPhone & Android via your app store.

The app is ideal for quick viewing of forum posts & simple replies. The app is free & as such, is limited in features/functions & some sections may not be listed.

If you need to access complicated functions or notice a section is not displaying on the app, please use your favorite browser on your phone & view the full site.

Managing Newsletter Preferences

Newsletters can be managed a couple different ways.

1. If You are already receiving a Newsletter.
- At Bottom of Newsletter email look for the Hyperlink Labeled “Profile Center”. Select this and you will be taken to a web page to change your settings or unsubscribe.

2. Preferences can also be changed from your “User CP” located near top on left from full site.
- Look for “Miscellaneous” section on left side and select “Edit Newsletter Preferences” this will open a web page to change your settings or unsubscribe.
