How do you get rid of the video box blocking the post

The video blocks my typing. This is the best forum, but I have to give up on it. I cannot read the replies.

No videos show up on my screens. Computer, phone or tablet. They all look basically the same with no videos blocking anything.

I too was having trouble with pop up ads till I downloaded “ad blocker pro” from the App Store. That solved the problem with my iPhone and iPad

The goals of Social Knowledge LLC and the users of iRV2 are different things. I find it odd that SK packs this site (and presumably the other dozens of forums they own) with stuff that requires either software solutions (ad blockers and javascript blockers) or significantly discourages user participation.

The nice people that actually 'run' iRV2 - the admins, the volunteer moderators, and other support folks - have no say in what is done by SK. The only thing SK will notice is a drop in traffic, and it would need to be significant. Use of advertising/script blockers is our only choice if we wish to benefit from the social knowledge (notice lack of capital letters) of other users.

I see zero advertising here, these days. I didn't want to go to that extreme as I fully understand that adverts pay to keep the bit bucket working... but it's annoying enough that it all had to go.

I don't believe that the folks running this and 30 other forum websites have ANY popup video ads provisioned on this site or the others. I don't block anything here and have never seen such a popup video.

I'm confident it's something that's attached itself to your browser and has nothing to do with the folks here. Yes, you may "only see it here" but that too is something that malware does. It targets some of your most visited websites to popup a video.

You could run some free software called Malwarebytes and clean out this video malware and any others active on your browser.

Want proof before trying that step? Download and install a brand new browser and then visit here - don't go anywhere else. Now you have proof when that popup video doesn't appear here with the new browser.

Members often complain about seeing ads/popups/videos. But it doesn't help us investigate it unless you provide a screenshot of it as well as tell us:
1. What type of device you are using to access the site
2. Are you on the full site or the app
3. Are you logged in
4. What browser you are using
5. What OS you are on

It is impossible for us to resolve any ad/popup/video issue unless we know this information. It's no different than calling a car mechanic & telling them your car is making a funny noise without telling that mechanic what year/make/model of car, describing the sound/providing an audio & telling them where it's coming from. They would have no clue where to start.

We can't help if we aren't given enough details. So, please, provide us with enough information for us to be able to look into the matter.
