To answer your question, once you create a new thread, you can not delete it. Use the triangle Report Post icon at the bottom left of every post to report it to a moderator and ask for removal or to move it. You can delete a post in a thread within an hour, but you can't delete a new thread.

Do not post the same topic in more than one area. If you want it moved to somewhere else, just use the Report Post icon and ask a moderator to move it.

I hope this helps.

I think this is where I need to ask a question in order to be a good forum participant:
if I am reading a question in one forum which may have been answered already in a different forum, may I actually suggest the OP repost their question in that other forum? I have suggested this twice in the last few days, different posts in different places, which I think the OP can be helped of the question is asked in a different forum
But now as I read in some threads, it sounds like posting the same or similar question in two different forums is not really allowed in IRV2 so I should not suggest an OP do that?

I want to follow good etiquette here.....

You should not ask a member to duplicate their question else where as this would be telling them to violate the rules.
You should use the red triangle and report the post if you feel it would be better somewhere else.
