iPad app for irv2

I do not want it. I cannot keep it from asking me to install it on every page I try to load. Isn't one time enough. After all, no means no for crying out loud. Surely this can be prevented by the programers.

I so agree.....
I have it and dont like it... So dont ask me every time......

But at least the mobile irv2 retains my password, on my ipad on the full irv2 site i have to login to IRV2 every time i leave and come back. I hate that. Tried every setting i could find to let it remember me......

But I also know that this is not really a customized forum. I am on several ither forums, one is medical, that have the exact same templated forum......

I agree, hate answering that question every time. I tried the app and don't like it near as much as the full version with Safari.

The web version on my laptop retains my username and password. I never have to login.

Up until today the desktop browser remembered me. Now every time I click my bookmark it asks me to log in again. No problem as I know that will get ironed out.

But I don't want the iPad app. I like the full browser affect on the iPad. I have used the app on my wife's iPad and I don't like the GUI.

Diane,
As for not remembering the PW, make sure that the settings in your browser are set to save cookies. That is where the link is that tells the web site who you are. The cookies do not store the password, but trigger the web site to remember you.

Okay, now anyone technical on the iRV2 staff regarding the constant, becoming offensive, request to download the iRV2 app?

Wayne, yea its a real pain in the butt I know. Take a look at Atomic Browser for iOS. It allows you to set your "User-Agent" to something other than what is reported to the forum. For instance, you can make it tell any website that you're actually a Windows 7 machine using Firefox or Chrome browser and then it won't ask you to install the app. I've no experience with this app... YMMV

The quick and easy solution is to just install the app and then don't use it if that's what you like. Doesn't take up that
much memory on the iPad....

It still prompts you each time if you want to use it or not for each and every forum section. For instance, if you are reading the Spartan forum and switch to the Freightliner forum you're prompted to install or use the app each time. It gets annoying quick, fast and in a hurry :-)

I don't get those prompts. Maybe cause I'm logged in on the app. See what happens if you log in.

Yep, same, the ipad is logged into the IRV2 app.. same thing. If I'm using Safari or Chrome browser, the forum constantly asks to use the app rather than the web browser (safari/Chrome). I can understand it being persistent when using and iPhone because the screen is so much smaller - however, the ipad offers a much larger screen thus no need for the app.

I have Atomic Browser. I had it set to some "other" browser. I'll play around with that today.

That's the whole point Cliff, I don't want to use the APP in any fashion so why is it being forced? It is a matter of the developer doing it that way. It should ask one time and then go away if not wanted. I wouldn't mind it asking one time each time I started the iPad.

So you do not have the APP on the iPhone?

=====================
So I just fired up the iPad. Forgot to mention that using Atomic Web that every time I try to go into iRV2 it quits the app.

Oh, BTW, I have the iRV2 app on the 1st gen iPad. Just forgot I had it. No, I don't want to use it because I do not like the Graphical User Interface (GUI).

I'm going to play around a little. Apperently setting the AW Browser to FF didn't help.
