iRV2 V Bulletin Oddities

I use other sites that use vBulletin to host their forums.

Only on iRV2 do I see a couple of strange things, and it's not obvious to me how to fix them at the user level.

First is paragraph spacing. Unless I preview my posts and then edit them, two spaces always appear between my paragraphs, rather than one. I see this in others' posts as well, so it appears that I am not alone!

Second is when "new posts" end and "not updated but have unread posts" begin. I have to go well into the latter before seeing everything I'm interested in that's new...or or display new posts again to see the rest, sometimes more than once.

I am puzzled. I know how to compensate but does anyone know how to make it unnecessary?

The paragraph double spacing has been posted about numerous times:

https://www.irv2.com/forums/f62/blank-space-459083.html

https://www.irv2.com/forums/f62/extr...hs-396376.html

https://www.irv2.com/forums/f62/irv2...am-229974.html

And that's just 3 of them.

The difference between "New Posts" & "The threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts" is based on when you last logged on. I'm not clear on what you're trying to accomplish with the latter question.

As just one example, The Practical Machinist is also running vBulletin, and those forums do not exhibit the spacing problem I see here, using the very same browser I am using now. (https://www.practicalmachinist.com).

I normally stay logged in. On both other forums I regularly use with vBulletin, and one I use from time to time, the "new posts" links acts as one would expect, showing new posts from the last time I checked. Nothing to do with when I last logged in.

These are really nits, overall. I'm not going to go away in a huff if they're not fixed, but I must observe that blaming the browser seems a bit odd since it works and plays well with other sites running the same software. Also, Firefox is pretty standards-compliant as a rule, and I'm running the current version (73.0.1 (64-bit)) on Win10.

I rather suspect a vBulletin setup problem of some sort.

(Edit) I forgot to add: Thanks for moving this thread to the right forum.

Well, I guess that's an option. But I must repeat that it is *only* here that I see any odd behaviors between FF and vBulletin. If it's a setup problem with the latter, it can be solved in one place rather than user by user. This makes more sense to me, particularly if browser updates require users to reset this value repeatedly.

That said, I'll shut up now, and let the site owner decide what to do, if anything. It's not an egregiously bad behavior, after all...and there is a lot of value here, and this is, in the grand scheme of things, a nit.

I don't know anything about vB set up. iRV2 is on 3.8.8 Beta 1. TPM is on 4.2.2. Maybe that's the reason iRV2 is double spacing for you.
