Issues Posting Photos
Anyone else having issues posting pictures? I have been on the forum a long time and never had an issue. Lately I write what ever and go to add a picture. It brings up the photo manager I pick a photo and it comes back to log in? I'm logged in or I couldn't be responding. I go ahead and "loh in off the message to log in and it keeps repeating. I have logged out and gone back to the post and get the same results, I can't insert a picture.

I didn’t have any issue like you described. Try clearing your browser cache and history.

Do you check the Remember Me? box when you first login? You may be logged in when you start your post & go to add a photo, but when you go to Submit Reply you get logged out. You shouldn't be getting logged out from the little Manage Attachments pop up, but after you close that then try to publish your reply, the page refreshes & that's when you get logged out.

Same as above with the remember me box checked. That one worked. Thanks I'll check the box from now on.

It's a common problem with photos taken with cell phones. You have to open them up in a photo editor, rotate them correctly then save with a different name to get rid of the phone orientation.

Thank you Lt. Dan. It's odd as they show up on my MAC as properly oriented. Learn something new each day. I don't use a separate photo editor other than my MAC.
Yet, I am guessing I would re-orient my original to appear one turn too far rightward... Let me try. Did it but same result. I will play around with the forum.

HEIC
Lt Dan - I believe the issue may be the .HEIC setting that Iphones use as an extension on some photographs. I don;t know why the setting gets changed. A great deal of my photos are taken as JPEGS but the HEIC extension (Live Photo) shows up on a some.
The successful post was a JPEG. The misoriented one was a HEIC. That must be the issue.
As I say, I will play around. And thank you again. You make the forum a wonderful resource.

It also makes a difference if the photo is taken as a vertical shot because it sometimes tries to display them as a horizontal. You should have a photo editor as part of the Mac OS, Microsoft Paint is part of the Windows software.

As Dan noted, phone photos are often sideways or upside down & the corrections he noted are required to have them display correctly in a post (or an ad) here.
But it's not just phones, I've had it happen with cameras too.
It's this forum's software. It does not auto rotate photos like our devices do & what we're used to. So if you have your device sideways or upside down when you take the photo, that's how it'll display here.
I have a a quick snip program on my laptop & I use it to make a copy of any photo I take, then I upload the copy - not the original - so I know my photo will display correctly here.

FWIW - I just open the photo and make sure it’s oriented correctly as I hold the phone (in case I hade the phone oriented upside down when I took the picture) - then I edit the photo, usually by slightly cropping it.
Never had a problem once I started doing that.
