Angry Porm Banner Ad

Your statement is BS! This is a banner add that is viewed by many people that visit this WEB page, it is NOT tailored to any one individual. I see it on my personal computer as well as my work computer. My company has a block to prevent employees from visiting porm sites therefore there is NO cookie to select this Banner Ad. I do not visit porn sites yet I am forced to view this BANNER AD! This is an iRV2 management issue they they need to address with it's advertisers or their marketing department but I find it totally unacceptable!

Your objection to this ad, (still never seen it due to Ad Blocker on my computer) is deflated by your own statements. You labeled your reply "Porn Banner Ad" but then say that your company blocks porn sites, yet you get this banner on your work computer. So... either your company filter is faulty or your labeling this ad porn is incorrect. Which is it? Also, those that have seen this ad and put links to it say it is a dating service for senors. That's pornographic? unacceptable? Perhaps there are single RVers that wouldn't object to this opportunity.

MSHappyCampers, what is INAPPROPRIATE about a dating service for seniors?

irv2 has ads to make this forum available to us at no cost. Those of you that object so strongly and want it removed ASAP are you willing to pay to post here? I do believe they take donations and even credit you as paid supporter with a blue band.

I do not mind ads on TV, web site, news papers, magazines etc as that is how they pay the bill and make the other information available. With that said I have a Pop up blocker with IE9 and I rarely to almost never read or listen to any ad unless they are entertaining (esp. beer commercials). I do not even see the ads on this or any other web site, that is not why I browse this forum. And as a side note this may be a family web site, I honestly doubt anyone under the age of say 30 takes the time to read these threads and nothing that may appear here can compare to the daily lives of the under 20 folks.

Bob,

Please read what I said. I was responding to the person that indicated I was getting these ads because I was at fault, I was visiting porn, dating, escort service sites and I said I could not visit those sites from my work computer but yet I am targeted for this banner ad on iRV2 that I have accessed from my work computer. I am sure that I would of been blocked if I clicked on the ad, not that the ad itself was porn.

I am sure that there may be single men and maybe some woman on iRV2 that would be interested is some adult entertainment and there are many internet sites designed just for those folks.

I may be wrong but I figured iRV2 was a nice family place to share RV experiences. If I am wrong then maybe I need to find another site to get my RV information fix?

By the way, I am a paid supporter so I do pay to post here!

Regards,
Jack

And that makes it applicable for the RV community? Are they going to have a booth at the iRV2 Rally?

Sorry Jack, I misread and misunderstood your response. Your company site would not block the ad and you probably don't have any cookies triggering it. As I stated, I've not seen the ad due to Ad Blocker. However, I have tried to visit the site to educate myself on what seems so objectionable. The link posted in this thread is incorrect, but when I did visit datefaithful, I don't see the inappropriateness MSHappyCamper claims or the unacceptability you object to. Seems to be a dating service like eHarmony or Match.com that advertise on TV even during primetime. I certainly don't see GaryKD's 'ladies of the night' like the thread title claims. Is the ad different or more extreme than just a couple of pretty women offering a date? Are they asking or suggesting sex for pay? (my interpretation of 'ladies of the night')

The sane man who sees things that offends him will ignore them and teach his children to do the same. The insane man will demand a government regulation, or in this case the management of this board, to outlaw the things that offend him and by doing so deprives himself the opportunity to teach his children his view of right and wrong. Those children grow up not knowing the difference, but no longer have the protecting parent preventing them from being exposed to this material. Now we have confused adults without standards or moral responsibility.
Banning offensive things is really limiting your ability to choose and teach your children to do the same. Who gets to say what is offensive and what is not? I can do it but I really don't have the time. But I fear there are others standing in line for the job.

I see nothing wrong with a add for a senior dating service, hopefully I’ll never need it. But if it offended me I would just ignore it the same as I now do.

Dick

Understanding that you have not seen the ad and it would appear that others who have made comment have not seen it as well let me give you a brief discription;

There are photos of 4 women with the title, "We do not like young men, we want YOU!" "Click her to join NOW!!"

Lady #1 Sitting on a patio sofa with large breasts much cleavage showing
Lady #2 Laying back on a bed, large breasts showing, and dress hiked up to her butt - very suggestive.
Lady #3 Very tight sweater, same as others, with breasts and cleavage
Lady #4 Only one that look OK nice dress, in a living room setting

How does this have anything to do with RVing?
