Multiple video ads have been bogging down my navigation through the site for the past month ( or at least it seems like a month ) .
Distracting to have letters you type , take 5 seconds or more to appear on screen .
Hate to do it but an ad blocker may be required.

What ads are you talking about? Are you logged in? Do you use an ad blocker?

There was a thread on this a while back. The advertising pays for the site.

I would not mind the advertising if it was not for the moving/flashing ones. That said, anybody not running flashblock is begging for trouble as well as loading a lot more data than they need to get all those littlle annoying stories you don't want to see. You can see the one's you want with a click. Unfortunately that won't block the dancing gifs. That has me running adblock.

If you don't join the forum as a member and sign in each time using your password and usercode--you will get ads......

All I ever see are the ads on the side bar, just like many other websites. I don't even notice them anymore.

Also, if you start using the "app" on iPhone or iPad, I never see an advertisement. Ipad is really better than a laptop for reading forums and browsing internet in my humble opinion anyway.

You can turn off the right side ads by going to your CP then "edit options".
