SPAM, after posting

I joined iRV2 back in Aug 2013 but didn't really post anything till this past month.
>>Now I am not saying this site is being harvested for sending spam<<
BUT:
I have had multiple e-mail accounts, most for over 15 years.
Since I started posting on this site the e-mail account that I have for this site has seen my spam go from 4 or 5 a week. To 20 or 30 a day?
I just changed my profile on this site to be private to all but members.
Hope this helps.
Any chance others have had this problem.
Am I doing anything wrong on this site to allow others to get my e-mail.
Could be something else not related to this site.
But for now this is the only major change I can think of?

Sorry you're having spam problems, but I don't think it's related to your membership here.

Only members may email other members, but they cannot see your email address.

Since member's emails are not visible, they cannot be harvested.

I would look elsewhere. I always sign up with a unique email address so I can track things like that. No issues from the address I use here.

IMHO, Most abuse of email accounts, comes from the poor habits of your contacts. When the headers contine multiple blocks of forwarded mail addresses, they are just asking for spam.

Thanks for ALL the info and your thoughts....
I didn't know that my e-mail couldn't be harvested by visiting this site.
That alone was worth the post!

Think I have 5 or more e-mail accounts. Some for specific uses.
The one that the spam has grown out of control I rarely send e-mail from.
Most likely less than one or two messages sent per month.
Now I'll have to put my thinking cap on to try to remember who I may have left it as a reply address.
