Too many ads here
In not happy with having to hit the x on the pop-up ads that show up every few seconds on this Forum site.
Is there an opt-out button somewhere on the site.
I always find these pop up ads annoying and really don't understand how they work. I'm thinking most people... maybe everyone... do not like them so why have them here. They don't seem to provide any positive function.

I see ads changing in the side bars ; but none that block my view and require Xing out .
Are you using a PC , laptop or iPad with an APP to visit iRV2 ?

I should have mentioned ; ads are what keeps the site free for users , AND all the ads running in the side bars that I notice are RV and travel related .
If you're seeing ads of a different nature you might have an online security issue.

Download Adblocker Ultimate and try it out. You'll still see the irv2.com adds on the sidebar and below the pages, but no pop-ups.

Would you be willing to pay a subscription fee for the forum to not have ads?

I don’t remember the last time I saw one of those ads. Hmmm.

I had that problem until I noticed my computer was logging me out. When I am logged in, the ads are just on the side; no popups. I have popups off in the browser as well.

I have this problem with FireFox. Tried Chrome and Safari and didn’t seem to have those annoying ads. Now to go through FireFox setting.

I do most of my viewing on a laptop. I have Adblocker and Ghostery installed on Firefox. Don't see any ads.
But about a month ago I tried to access with my Iphone and the same thing happened. Ads popping up constantly, some I could X out and others would take me to a website every time I hit the X. Didn't take me long to give up. If I had to deal with that on my laptop I wouldn't be typing this now.

They just started on my phone and Android Tablet. They pop up in the middle the screen while trying to answer or read post. It is so bad I have stopped using my phone or tablet to view iRV2. I have loaded ad blockers, but they are only working one the laptop or desktop, not the hand helds. I can understand the need for ads, but in the middle of the screen, that's taking it a little to far. If you "try" to close them, 90% of the time the ad opens up. It's getting to be very frustrating. I hope the administration sees this post. If it starts on the computers, after 15 years, most as a paid memeber. I will leave this site. I did not renew my membership this time because of the middle of the screen popups.

Same here, no issues on desktop running Chrome but on my Android phone the ads make it near impossible to do anything, they hover right in your way and when trying to close many I will get re-directed, like you I just gave up, it's just not worth jumping thru all those hoops.

No popups except for websites I have to allow them on. I do sometimes get a blank banner at the bottom of the pag but I suspect that is from a blocked popup. I get them on other pages sometimes. I'm running Opera in privacy mode.

Chrome here too with ad blockers. I never get ads that interfere with a post on IRV2. Foxnews just started blocking me unless I removed my ad blockers. I said no and go elsewhere for my news updates. They tried it last fall and I wrote them that I would not remove the blocker and would go elsewhere for news. Two weeks later, I was allowed on with my blockers in place. I'll check in a week, but will not remove the blockers.

I too was having a lot of trouble with pop up ads. I did as you suggested and now my screen time is a lot less aggravating.
Thanks for the suggestion.
