Trouble attaching logo to avatar & signature

After many minutes of trying and failing, I got the mutants logo to appear in my avatar. Still no luck in placing it in my signature. (I just tried to underline the word still, just used in previous sentence, but failed).
I believe the key to it was becoming a supporter of iRV2 for $15.03. Supporting iRV2 gave me more space to enhance things but the signature additions are still a mystery.

My DW has worked on computers since the late 70's and she is befuddled by some of the things our website does or does not do. The "system", as she calls it, does not give enough hints, information, icons, etc to enable the user to navigate or create. For example, how does a user increase the size of the font? The tool "Sizes" doesn't do it. (It only gives some computer language [size="5"] [Size] with no explanation what they're referring to). The tool "increase size" doesn't do it.

How does one capture the Mutant icon from one user's post and use it on my signature? I supposedly captured the icon by right clicking and saving but the captured icon is pasted as a hyperlink. (No picture)

Two intelligent people and 1 highly trained computer geek (that's not me) want to know.

I don't have a current picture in my signature, so my instructions don't start out with anything about keeping or changing current picture.

When I attempt to use option 1 or option 2 I don't get any picture results. How do I use option 1 or option 2 to capture the "Mutants logo" from the "R U a Mutant too" thread. I've tried to copy and paste. I've tried to download the logo and then install it in option 1 and option 2. I've copied the logo to my files and then try to transfer it to option 1 or option 2.

One error message said invalid file type. Others in the thread have a logo in their signature. But how? I've reached out but didn't get any instructions on doing it like they did.

Secret to success

My original signature had a "Smily" in it. That counted as my ONE picture so I couldn't add a REAL picture until I deleted the smily character. When I did that I was able to insert my logo.

The system's warnings/reasons for failure were worthless. It, the system, gave obscure references to file problems, etc. Fellow poster clued me in to the cause of my roadblock. I could have given up because I never would have imagined that a jumpy smily would stand in my way of completing a seemingly simple task.

The system seems to have some quirks not found in Word, Excel, e-mail, etc. Does the website have an IT specialist that weeds out these quirks when they become an issue?

Yep, a smiley is a picture, although most of us wouldn't think it such. Now we know.

This system is not MS based; it's vBulletin so it has it's own set of rules. We do have an IT guru who take care of trying fix stuff (app bugs, browser screw ups..etc). We call him when the rest of us can't figure it out. But mostly, posting your questions in the iRV2 Forums Issues Forums gets you assistance from members or staff that usually does the trick.

There is great need for a sarcasm font.

Thanx Dave/Lori. Sorry to "bluster" so much. Just don't know why the system would even bother to give me "non information" hints on what's going bad in my attempts. They didn't provide a clue to me as to what was wrong.
