A couple of years ago, for a very short time, we also had nicknames or slogans under the avatars like 'firestarter' or 'kindling'. I don't know what happened to them but, I thought they were cool.

The nicknames were short lived as there was some resistance to several of the choices....
"Marshmellow gooey fingers" comes to mind as one of those which I've been told was a problem...
We all seem to enjoy sitting around a campfire,so the choice was made to include them as avatars...
We're working on the issue of creating a space between the avatars and the campfires as in some instances it actually looks like the rig avatars are on fire....

I, for one, like the campfires . . . would be cool to get the flames to twinkle or somehow move.

Have you looked at reversing the order of the avatar and the Karma codes.
For example, take mine.
I wouldn't mind having the campfires seem to be warming my dog, Kopit.

Why is my Avatar a red X and the words 'picture of tps0424'? What happened to my picture? I know it was from a long time ago. Was I supposed to do something?

tps0424-
My avatar goes "poof" from time to time, too & is replaced by that little red X thingy. Maybe the site gremlins are testing to see if we're paying attention. I just ask the web doctors to re-establish it & it's back.
I like the campfires. Nice touch!

If I was still in Newfoundland, I would have 10 campfires. You get cabin fever 10 months out of the year. Live on the internet,

I agree! I was a "new member" forever and just finally got promoted to "member" and now I am down to one campfire. It shows only 35 posts for me but I have mentioned before that I had at least 5 posts with the same number. At this rate I will never make it to 75 posts.

Barbara; The count it most likely correct. The way it works is that every post you made has the current number of posts you have made. Click on your name in a post and review your recent posts. If you look at a few you will see thenumbers are right. Like Mike said, it won't take long and you will have a big fire like everyone else.
