Why cant I log in?
Hi
I have been having issues ever since I Joined
Every time I try to login I cant and am being told that either my username or password is wrong.
Then I have to try and go through all the steps to retrieve the Password and username only to be told again that something is wrong.
This happened again when I tried to login but I Jumped through all the hoops and finally got logged in and asked a question.
I then left the computer to go outside and do some chores and when I came back I had been logged out so I tried to logg back in.
Took me over an hour but I am finally logged back in and want to ask the question so if I have issues again I can come to the forum and even if I am not logged in I will be able to see what the problem is and what I need to do.
Oh by the way when I first got logged in today and Posted a question in the Fleetwood section I was wanting to add to the post but I could not find a tab to edit the message.
I would appreciate if a moderator coul tell me what is going on an how to fix the issue ??
I dont think it is an issue with my computer as I can loggin to any other site without issues .
Thanks
Craig
Now I am seeing the edit tab on this message !
BTW I am using Firefox, adblocker and Windows

Did you ask Firefox to remember the password? I am always logged in and haven't entered a password in weeks of use. You only have about an hour or less to edit a post, then the edit button goes away. Capital letters, exact spelling of course matter in username and password responses.

Re
Hi
No I did not ask Firefox to remember password.
BUT I have no issues with any other sites with the setting of do not remember password.
I immediately looked at my post and there was no option to edit .
Of course about the username and password.
Thanks for your help
Craig

Craig. When you create a post you can make edits, but after a short period of time that option goes away. That's just the way it works.

re
Well if the option to edit only last 30 minutes then that MIGHT be the issue there but was not the issue with not being able to log in after I was logged off Automatically.
That is no big deal as I can always just make another post if I have forgotten to put something in the original post.
Basically I just mentioned that in addition to saying I used Firefox,Windows and Ad block to better help Management or a Moderator in site to figure out what were the issues were with not being able to log on.

You might try clearing your browser of irv2 history and cookies. There's no reason that I can think of as to why you can't log in if you're using your username and password correctly.

I love this forum. However, these continuing problems do not happen on other forums. We're asked to try this and that when the problem is with this forum format. I don't know what's all involved but is it possible to make forum changes such as a different server, etc.? This just isn't a normal thing to have constant problems like this. Just a suggestion......

Some last tips: When you log in to iRV2 for the 1st time, you need to check the "Remember Me?" box. You should also set your internet security to med-high.
These will put a cookie on your device & keep you logged in until you actually hit the Log Out tab. Even if your device goes idle & our servers remove you for lack of activity, you will still be logged in when you return. This is how a lot of our members utilize the site so they don't have to log in every single time they go away from it.

I agree. If the forum was the problem, you'd be hearing from a lot more folks than just bcraig1.
You get what you pay for. Become a iRV2 Supporter. Last time there was major disruption the whole forum erupted. To build a site that can handle diverse platforms, operating systems, browsers. and folks with a spectrum of tech skills, I think it's pretty good.
