Why I am leaving IRV

I understand the need for advertising, but Pop up ads are horrible, unnecessary, and a waste of time and bandwidth. Please consider removing them so I can return.

This is being discussed here: https://www.irv2.com/forums/f62/too-...re-583774.html

Go to post #4. There is a simple solution to stop the pop ups.

No ad blocker here. Only see the top-banner add and the side-bar adds, some of which are interesting when new.

Same here, I hate them and use an adblocker. Try it out, would like to have you around!

I have enough stinking APPs. Can't eat, get my haircut, or go to the bathroom these days without an APP.

That said, have to pay for the site somehow. On my computer, the ads seem to be just at top and right side of screen. Guess I have gotten used to them, they do not bother me. Every once and a while, something will catch my eye, but rarely. What is scary is how the ads usually go along with some recent search I have done.

On my phone, I do not use the APP but just my browser. There is a small streaming video toward the bottom of the screen that interferes with my browsing sometimes. It is an annoyance, but since I try to avoid viewing the site on my phone, I live with it.

I don’t understand the hatred for an app you will use often… I use mine every day. The app is free, simple, and uses less bandwidth of data because NO ADS EVER! You should try it before you decide it’s not for you.

Not sure what the difference is but I don't see any ads. Definitely no pop ups. I suspect there is something in my settings that blocks them since there are some sites that I need the pop ups and they don't work. I think it's related to the browser I use.

I use FireFox with AdBlock and never have a problem with popups. Even with AdBlock turned off the ads are not annoying and no popups.

Must be on a phone which you might try Weblock that works well.

Or recommend that all users pay a subscription fee for a no ad version.
