1000 Trails Year Pass

thinking of getting a year pass from 1000 trails
what are the pros and cons
will they have spots open at the campgrounds or do they only have a few spots open for members and would rather save spots for nonmembers at a higher rate
thanks for any input

We've had a zone pass for exactly a year. Bought 2 Zones (NE and SE) on a 4 year contract. We use it in the Fall after Labor Day so no problems with 60 day booking window. The res site is easy to use. Camp for 30 days and you've made your $ back. Nice parks.. Wells ME, Sturbridge, Cape Cod, Tim Lake, Lake and Shore. All good parks.

1000 Trails Year Pass

Also consider adding the new "Trails Collection" for $199. Am seriously considering adding it on our anniversary date which is Sept 17th. You get access to a huge # of parks nationwide, not just in your purchased zone(s). You have to dig a bit to get all the FAQ and info on website, just went through it and looks good to me. Randomly picked a few parks and read the reviews on campgroundreviews.com and they look good.

We have it with 2 zones and use it quite a bit.

We are down to about $7/n already and we've only had it since May. Reservations only 60 days out can sometimes be a bit tricky at high volume parks - for example the one in Wells, Maine, is almost always full...but you can "dry camp" instead if you wish (included), and that's always open. That's actually the only park we've ever had issues getting into.

If you do get it, remember, its always on sale or there is some kind of deal. We stayed for a week at an park before we had it, went and talked to the sales guy, and they rolled that into our payment for the 1 year pass and zones. We then immediately stayed another week...and basically paid off the pass with just those two weeks of camping.

Search the site - many threads about 1K trails. Also, less expensive to buy on the secondary market.

We had a 1000 Trails membership and did not renew. Seemed like everytime we got to a CG all the good spaces contained empty RVs.

Cat320. the reason for that is they are seasonal sites. Someone paid about $2700 to keep their rig there all season long.
I used mine enough to pay my dues, but now we have sold the 5er so I canceled my plan.
