83 mph?

In my mighty red jeep today I was passed by a 40' Dynasty with a golf cart on a trailer doing over 80...maybe to fast?

In my opinion yes, but bet others will say no.

Beyond the tire's speed ratings. Both MH and trailer tires.

The speed limit when towing in California is 55. I try to stay in line with the trucks and run what they do, normally 60 to 62. On I 5 I get passed by all day long by MH's towing and people pulling TT's and 5th wheels that must be doing 75 and more. I try and keep as far away from them as possible.

One time with friends descending the fairly steep hill into Laughlin Nv. a 40 ft motorhome passed us like we were standing still and we were doing 60 plus in a car. When we got to the light at the bottom of the hill there was no sign of him. I don't know if he was able to stop for it or not.

About a year ago I was just south of Dallas, got passed by a 45’ coach pulling a Mercedes on a trailer. I was in my YUKON and sped up just to see how fast the MH was going, 85 mph!!! This, IMHO, is reckless driving!!! Any mistake at 85 mph with that much size and weight would probably be fatal for someone! If you’re in that big of a hurry you need to leave sooner!!!

Some people take the "recreation" out of their recreational vehicle (RV).

Some people have places to go, and good for them. People driving under the posted speed limit is as annoying to others as their speed is to you. If people are so "afraid" for their safety maybe the interstate is just not for them...

He probably slowed enough to turn off onto Needles Hiway, with the brakes smoking.

The 55 mph towing limit in Kalifornia is reckless. The speed differential is just asking for trouble. All vehicles in AZ can go 75 mph, which is what it should be, maybe higher in some areas. In TX the speed limits are 80 and 85 and they don't care what you're driving. I hate towing in Kali but love the higher speeds in AZ and Texas.

You know the real crazy thing is all these people driving huge rigs, no matter the speed, with zero training, no special licensing in most cases, and no medical certificate saying they are healthy to drive.
