I remember backpacking and building a fire when it was in the high 90's.

We put a lot of smoke making stuff on it to keep the bugs away.

Because there is nothing better than sitting around the fire at the track cracking a couple of beers talking cars after spending most of the day watching cars.

Even with a mask on, like I will do next weekend at Mid-Ohio for the INDYCAR double header....

When it’s too hot for a fire but I still want some ambiance, I hook up the propane fire pit. You get the flames and the atmosphere without the firewood, ash, smoke hassle. I have no small kids so that’s not an issue and I hate S’mores.

Different jokes for different folks! Unless needed for cooking, which would be a rare situation for me, I don't care for having a campfire if it isn't comfortable to sit by. During the summer heat....I don't see a need. If we don't get totally shut down to the Covid 19 situation, I'm looking forward to cool evenings and a toasty campfire. And....I also carry a propane "fire in a can" for times that I'm really lazy or good wood is not available!

We're not city folks and we enjoy campfires both camping and in our back yard. This time of the year is definitely not for the warmth.

I don't mind campfires but when you light it up early morning and then throw your breakfast paper plates in and then let it smolder all day long, I don't like it.

We have hosted in a number of parks and some people think that the fire ring is for their garbage. All sorts of unburned plates, cans and uneaten food. Some poof the slobs even leave their rug rats dirty diapers in the fire ring.

I'm with you on this. I live in the country with two hundred acres of land. We have a really nice outdoor fireplace and use it often. We burn wood and wood only which I have harvested from my own property while cutting down trees or trimming trees. There is absolutely no garbage which goes into our fireplace. I do have neighbors and don't want to offend them by smoking them out. Respect goes a long way.
A little common sense goes a long way but sense isn't so common anymore. It's all about ME!
