Adding a bike rack to my trailer

Hi. I know this is an RV forum, but I have a plan to add a bike rack to my small trailer and figured this place would have alot of people experienced with hauling trailers that might be able to help me out.
My trailer is a small closed ( 3' wide by 4' long) trailer that you can pull with a motorbike. There is a 6" wide 3/16" thick steel plate running from the front to the back where the hitch is bolted through. I was thinking of adding a hitch receiver tube to the back of the trailer so that I could install a bike rack to hold two adult bikes and one child bike. I am pretty sure that with the way I am planning on attaching the receiver the hitch will be sturdy enough to hold the bikes, but am wondering if the weight of the bikes will impact the way that the trailer handles on the road....
Any advice, insight or suggestions are more than welcome.
And sorry in advance if I haven't posted this in the correct forum.
Thanks!

Glad you're aboard. One thing I would be concerned about is how it will change your tongue weight. Other than that I think you're good to go. Enjoy your adventures and be safe.

What kind of top does your trailer have? could a bike rack, the type that straps on a trunk or hatch be mounted on the back? The leverage action of a receiver bike rack, especially on the back of a trailer, can be pretty dramatic.

Just be sure that what ever you add to the back of the trailer doesn't reduce your tongue weight too much. Tongue weight should be 12-15% of total trailer weight. If you have less than that, the trailer can start to sway. On the back of a 'motor bike' I'd be afraid the trailer might outweigh the tow vehicle. Also, If you don't have brakes on the trailer you've only got two motorcycle tires doing all the stopping.
