Yes, this campground is in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. In the meadow in the background of this photo is where herds of Elk congregate during their rutting season. Likewise, in the town of Estes Park near here the Elk come down and hang out all over the place.

We Texans don't want to be left out here.



This one had a flock of friends but they were a bit camera shy. I was thinking how good the evening meal might be but the Palo Duro Canyon park ranger might have objected.

I figured that we should have been entitled to a free turkey dinner after the drive in (2 miles, 10% grade with 5 hairpin turns in the middle)
